DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER.
Being underestimated is a funny thing. This can happen for many reasons to include but not limited to your race, gender, or socioeconomic status. When you act, believe, or appear different then others, people sometimes misjudge you based on their own understanding of how things are “suppose” to go.
Frankly, this is not usual. After all, we are shaped by OUR experiences, level of education (both formal and informal), and our trial and error learning. I get this aspect of learning and understanding.
What I have a more difficult time with is folks who are so limited in their thinking they simply cannot get outside of their own perceptions of the world. These are the “the world evolves around me” people. Someone should whisper quietly to them that it does not.
Be careful when judging others you don’t accidentally misjudge the wrong person because you may be on top of the world one day and in a not so good position the next.
