WORLD CHAMPIONS
Today’s “Triple P” post or positive post for the posse is about WORLD CHAMPIONS.
So what’s a champion anyway?
cham·pi·on ˈCHampēən/ noun 1. a person who has defeated or surpassed all rivals in a competition, especially in sports. ”a champion hurdler” synonyms: winner, titleholder, defending champion, gold medalist, titlist, record holder; More 2. a person who fights or argues for a cause or on behalf of someone else. ”a champion of women’s rights” synonyms: advocate, proponent, promoter, supporter, defender, upholder, backer, exponent.
We are all champions in one way or another. To be a champion, a true champion, we have to possess the necessary “champion ingredients” like the Chicago Cubs did this year and like the Kansas City Royals did last year.
A few “champion ingredients” I discovered over time that had significant impact in my life are listed below.
1). Never give up. What if the Chicago Cubs had given up? We all know the answer to that. What I learned from the World Series is what I already knew to be true. To be a true champion you should NEVER give up. Life has a way of throwing you curve balls – unexpectedly. One day things are going fine, and the next day all $!,&);&@ breaks loose. Don’t give up, it’s simply called life.
2). Be consistent. How many of you have ever started something and then stopped? Troy Nash – guilty! The older I get, the more I appreciate the power and impact of being consistent. We live in a world today where there are great talkers and starters, but very few finishers. Be consistent and watch your credibility grow.
3). Ignore the critics. I said ignore the critics not positive criticism or feedback you may not want to hear. In fact, healthy positive feedback and positive criticism actually helps you grow and learn. Beware: some may wrap jealousy or envy in the blanket positive criticism to take petty shots at you. Otherwise, seek out opinions of others so you can up YOUR game.
Go out and become the champion you were meant to be. Some may boo and throw tomatoes at you but if you ignore the naysayers, remain consistent in your move forward and never, never quit or give up, you WILL be successful.
Remember, you got to be RELENTLESS in pursuit of your dreams.
