WALKING ALONE
Today’s “Triple P” post or positive post for the posse is about WALKING ALONE.
Les Brown said, “When you make the decision to do something with your life, all hell will break lose.” Man…was he right about this.
Here is what I experienced when I said enough is enough, I’m going to change my life. These are the folks that instantly started to manifest.
THE “BE MY GUEST” PERSON. Misery loves company. It will invite you over so you can listen to them complain about everything and everybody. They actually believe talking endlessly about their problems actually solves the problem. I was sympathetic at first, until I realized how much time I was wasting. Flee from these people as fast as you can. When you see them 10 years from now, you guessed it, they’ll still be talking about the same ole stuff.
THE “OH I’M GLAD YOU’RE DOING WELL” PERSON. This insidious creature is sometimes hard to spot because they cloak their jealously, envy, and disdain for you behind a great big smile, and a ton of compliments. You have to pay close attention because over time they will slip up and put in a little jab designed to diminish you or your character. Watch out for these snakes, and don’t forget to smile right back.
THE “I WISH I COULD” PERSON. These are good people who just simply haven’t discovered their talents, skills, and abilities yet. I was once this way too! However, once I discovered I could do stuff, and started to tell myself a different story about myself in my own head, the rest is history. I had to learn to trust myself, to trust my instincts, to trust my own thinking. For the full story check here.
BONUS MATERIAL: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU PICK UP THAT BOOK. When I was uneducated, had no formal schooling, hadn’t traveled outside of my neighborhood, let alone to another state or country, was broke, and on welfare living in the projects, I could find plenty of friends, homies, associates, colleagues, and crew members to hang out with. The moment I picked up a book and actually read it…
Remember, be RELENTLESS pursuit of your dreams!
