THE MENTAL MATRIX
Today’s “Triple P” post or positive post for the posse is about DISTORTED SELF PERCEPTION & THE MENTAL MATRIX.
Why is it some people can face adversity, obstacles, and challenges and overcome them with no problem? Then there are those who at the first sign of trouble crumble like an old leaf under a log.
Here are just a few reasons I believe people second-guess themselves and refuse to face life’s challenges head-on.
1). DOUBT. Doubt is something all of us carry with us at different points and times in our lives. Most doubt can be traced back to fear. When we doubt ourselves, we send a message very loud and very clear to the universe we’re not ready to handle life’s twists and turns. On the other hand, when we do not doubt ourselves we have the ability to become an unstoppable force of nature. Leave doubt behind and become unstoppable.
2). MISTRUST. With the world today, you have to be very careful who you surround yourself with and who you allow in your inner circle. Allow the wrong person in your group, and you can find yourself in a constant state of chaos and drama. On the other hand, find those who are trustworthy and worthy of your trust and create strategic partnerships based on trust and mutual respect.
3). PAST DEMONS. All of us have histories. Some people have carried themselves in the most irresponsible way we know how and have the scars to prove it. Yet, others have managed to make mistakes and avoid repeating them over and over and over again. These past demons can do one of two things: They can either hold you back or you can use them as opportunities for personal growth and development.
TAKEAWAY: Doubt, mistrust, and past demons are rooted in fear. This fear exaggerates the danger you face thereby distorting your self perception. Admittedly, I’m no psychologist, psychotherapist, counselor, psychiatrist; or informal shrink. However, I do have enough commonsense to know we become what we repeatedly do and think about. Therefore, we should do good things and think good thoughts. Miraculously, good things will start to happen to you.
