LOOKING IN THE MIRROR

LOOKING IN THE MIRROR

Today’s “Triple P” post or positive post for the posse is about LOOKING IN THE MIRROR.

Cleisthenes was an Athenian statesman who famously reformed the political structure and processes of Athens at the end of the 6th century and greatly increased the influence of ordinary citizens on everyday politics.

We the people. Republicans. Democrats. Rich. Poor. Race. Civil Rights. Income & Gender Inequality. Jobs. Foreign Trade. Pro Life. Pro Choice. School Reform. Climate Change. And the list goes on and on and on. The process to debate these important issues stared with the dude mentioned above – Cleisthenes.

Recently, I scanned several major publications across the country and around the world, and one common theme kept popping up again and again. VIOLENCE. My conclusion – we are a violent species. All throughout history, man has found new and interesting ways to destroy himself.

Yeah..I wish I had THE solution. I do not. I do however have opinions. This is what I believe.

1). TADPOLES. The current generation is challenged to say the least. People care more about reality TV than math and science. We gotta start teaching our young people the fundamentals of self respect, not only for themselves, but respect for their fellow sister and brother. It’s up to future generations to change what we could not.

2). BRAIN FOOD. We become what we consume. What goes into our eyes, ears, and brain ultimately manifest in our behaviors, habits, and actions. In other words, we become what we think about. Garbage in. Garbage out. Good stuff in. Good stuff out. Simple really. Watch who is speaking into YOUR ear. Put “good stuff” in you and watch life take on new meaning for you.

3). LOVE. In today’s world, it’s much more popular to talk about what you are against rather than what you are for; about who you dislike or hate, rather than who you love and support. The math is simple. Hate + Hate = More Hate. Stop hating on one another and change the formula to one of love, kindness, and compassion for each other regardless of well…any differences that may exist. In today’s world we grow by working together.

What is the “TripleP” Challenge?
