VALLEYS

Today’s “Triple P” post or positive post for the posse is about VALLEYS.

I’ve been fortunate to travel to many places around the world. One of the most interesting is the country of Egypt where I visited the Valley of the Kings. For a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, tombs were constructed for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom in the Valley.

While I’m no King, Pharaoh, or Nobleman, I have been in many valleys. In hindsight, many, if not all of them have been self inflected. How many of you have been in a valley in your own life, a low, low spot? Here are a few steps I took to get out of the valley.

1). TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. How many of you know people who no matter what happens to them, it’s always someone else’s fault? They NEVER take responsibility for their actions. Once we take responsibility for our lives, it then frees us up to focus on issues, people, and opportunities that matter. Take responsibility for YOUR stuff.

2). ACKNOWLEDGE THE PAIN. The decisions we make affect other people, there is no question about that. If you did something that negatively affected someone else, let them know you messed up and want to make things right. Life is just simply to short to carry garbage around. Don’t hurt other people.

3). FORGIVE. This is definitely easier said than done. I have literally read the Bible, Torah, Qu’an, and numerous other religious and spiritual texts. All of them talk about some form of forgiveness. Yet, it is still difficult to do. I don’t really have any direction to offer here other than to say forgiveness is definitely necessary. In the end though, we must forgive to be forgiven.

Remember, be RELENTLESS in pursuit of your dreams!
